Daredevil is back — and maybe Marvel is too.

Daredevil star Vincent D’Onofrio has been reasonably clear about Kingpin’s absence from The Defenders, though some have certainly held out hope for Wilson Fisk’s return in Jon Bernthal’s Punisher spinoff, given their past chemistry. Allow D’Onofrio to dash your hopes even further, debunking any suggestion he might show up in the 2017 Daredevil spinoff.

In a world where Rogue One can fold in Star Wars Rebels canon and vice-versa, it can be frustrating for Marvel fans that the movie and TV sides haven’t had any real back-and-forth characters. Someone like Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin would seem like a natural fit, even in passing reference, but the Daredevil star sadly believes “It makes sense not to mix the TV stuff.”

Fans of Daredevil’s Kingpin were undoubtedly disappointed to hear that Vincent D’Onofrio wasn’t likely to menace The Defenders, even as his specter still looms over Hell’s Kitchen. D’Onofrio previously claimed to know when Wilson Fisk might return, but does his 2017 production schedule rule out Daredevil Season 3?

Marvel’s Netflix Defenders has yet to reveal much about Sigourney Weaver’s main villain, though one imagines the eight-episode teamup series will feature a number of smaller big bads. Don’t expect Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk to menace anyone other than Daredevil, however, as the actor says there’s “no chance” of a Defenders appearance (or a Spider-Man: Homecoming role).

You can never keep a good villain down, especially in the Marvel universe (emphasis on “good”), and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk was last seen itching for payback. So it is, that the Daredevil star claims he knows exactly when and where Kingpin will strike next, but which series might we see it in?
