Between the awesomeness of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time video game and the... much less awesomeness of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, the equation of TMNT + time travel doesn't always equal every fan's ideal experience. When it comes to comics, however, one of the team's earliest chronal adventures is right on the money. Next week's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classics Vol. 4 collects stories by writers Mark Bode, Jan Strnad, Rick McCollum and Bill Anderson, with art by Bode, Richard Corben, McCollum, Anderson and colorist Michael Dooney that take the ninja bros on a tour of exotic times and places including ancient Egypt and the golden age of piracy (no, we're not referring to 1999) in one convenient 124-page collection. IDW's provided us with an early look at the new volume, which you can sample after the jump. From IDW's official solicitation info:

Volume 4 contains three more adventures as the Turtles travel the world and through time. In "Egyptian Adventure" April's friend is in need of help so the boys tag along, then the Turtles end up on the deck of a 16th century Man 'o War in "Turtles Take Time," and concludes with "Twilight of the Ring" including the prelude "The Ring" from Turtle Soup, Vol. 2 #1.
