The Early Turtle Gets The Wyrm In ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe’ #6 [Exclusive Preview]
It's been nearly five years since IDW's ground-up reinvention of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the publisher's line of Turtle-based comics have stayed strong as one of the most innovative and exciting licensed properties on the shelves right now. One of the coolest things has been seeing a generation of creators who grew up on Turtles get their hands on the property and the new issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe sees Michelangelo getting involved in a missing person's case that leads to the discovery and debut of the semi-obscure villain Wyrm.
Next month's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe #6 by John Lees, Nick Pitarra and Felipe Sobreiro introduces a whole new Wyrm even more sinister and terrifying than you remember him, plus the issue features a back-up story by Brahm Revel which promises to take us inside the Foot Clan. That could mean a lot of things, but I'm hoping to see some ninja bureaucracy.
As for Wyrm, the character first debuted in the Archie Comics series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures back in 1990 and hasn't been used that much since. There was a very memorable toy produced of the character, and he showed up again in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animation, but outside of that he's definitely more on the obscure side of Turtles villains.
