2010 is turning out to be a big year for Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa's "The 99" comic book. Not only will the franchise cross over with DC's Justice League down the road, it's also slated to make its animated debut in North America on the brand new "The Hub" cable network this fall.

The Hollywood Reporter posted a full schedule for the new network yesterday, which in addition to "The 99" includes new shows like our previously covered "G.I. Joe: Renegades" plus modern classics like "Fraggle Rock."

Rooted in Islamic culture and history, "The 99" animated series from Teshkeel Media and Endemol pits Al-Mutawa's global team of super powered kids against a would-be dictator rendered in CGI. Given The Hub's ties to Hasbro (as well as the Discovery Network), it's reasonable to consider the possibility that "The 99" could see toys through the company down the road, although no official announcement has been made.

You can check out a preview of "The 99" animated series after the jump.
