As much as people around the globe dig Hergé's classic Tintin comics, not even the pedigree of director Steven Spielberg, producer Peter Jackson and writers Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish can fully sell Tintin fans on historically creepy-looking motion capture CG animation. MSN's exclusive first look at the international trailer for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn kind of helps take the edge off, however, giving viewers a nice synopsis of the comic book adaptation that's looking increasingly less wonky and more fun with each new preview. Where earlier teasers were borderline boring, the international trailer is all about action and seems to gives fans a decent idea of what to expect when the film debuts on December 21. Check out the video after the jump.I gave the film a pretty hard time a few months back when it seemed like its videogame adaptation looked considerably more exciting and visually appealing than its source material, but I'm starting to shed those preconceptions. While Tintin, Captain Haddock and even Snowy are capable (if comical) adventurers in Hergé's stories, this trailer makes them seem... dare I say, kind of badass? Don't get me wrong, there's no lame tough guy posturing, but it's nice to see the film play up Tintin and company's exploits on a cinematic scale without sacrificing what seems like solid characterization thus far.
