Fans have known for awhile that The CW's Arrow will come stocked with villains like Deathstroke, Merlyn and Deadshot for Stephen Amell to face as Oliver Queen on the soon-to-debut live action series, but now it appears he could be getting some help in his fight against crime in Starling City care of a certain hero from Gotham. Entertainment Weekly reports that relative newcomer Jessica De Gouw has joined the cast of Arrow as the Helena Bertinelli version of Huntress.According to Arrow's official character description for Huntress, "Helena is a potential love interest for Oliver Queen; a fellow vigilante, set on destroying her father's organized crime empire. But Helena's blind pursuit of revenge will put her on a collision course with the Arrow."

Judging from this description, this version of Huntress is pretty in line with her pre New 52 status quo, which is interesting considering how many versions of the character have existed across various DC Comics continuities and their respective adaptations in TV, animation and video games.

The whole "potential love interest" thing could prove vexing to fans rooting for Laurel Lance (played by Katie Cassidy) and Oliver Queen to follow their comic book counterparts' lead in the ways of romance. Of course, it remains to be seen if the show's version of Laurel Lance will wind up with a Black Canary persona... although CA's own Andy Yen had some potentially spoiler-y thoughts on the matter after catching a version of the Arrow pilot at SDCC last month.

Arrow debuts on The CW on October 10, and Huntress is expected to show up around episode six (probably in November) and continue to appear through a multi-episode arc.
