‘Trexels’ by John Martz: Name All 235 8-bit ‘Star Trek’ Characters [Art]

Amidst the many cartooning wonders to be discovered at this weekend's MoCCA Festival in New York City is Trexels, a handsome print by John Martz depicting 235 Star Trek characters in charmingly pixelated form. Martz, who's contributed to Flight and Syncopated and serviced clients including Nickelodeon Magazine and Hallmark Cards, teamed with Koyama Press to create Trexels, which has been produced in a limited edition of 300. If you can name the characters, then you've got a chance at winning a free copy.Based in Toronto, Canada, commercial artist and designer John Martz is also the creator of the independent comics project Heaven All Day, which will debut in print form at MoCCA thanks to funding from the Xeric Foundation. Only 25 copies of the Trexels print will be available at the festival, with the rest sold on his website and at Comic-Con International in San Diego and the Toronto Comics Art Festival. The print measures 8.5" x 11" and is printed on "beautiful 100% cotton rag museum-quality paper."
