There may still be 16ish shopping days left until Christmas, but if you're like Batman, you may not be in the mood for holiday mirth just yet.

Fortunately for those needing seasonal inspiration, there's the animated action figure short, "'Twas The Dark Knight Before Christmas."

Based on Clement Clarke Moore's classic holiday poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas" (Yeah, I call it "'Twas the Night Before Christmas too), the fairly beefy short follows butler Alfred Pennyworth as he narrates the events of Christmas eve in the Batcave.

Naturally, Batman is brooding and missing his parents until a certain kind of Santa shows up. I won't give away the ending, but I will say the world's greatest detective doesn't take long to discover the "magic" behind the gift-giving fat man.

Created by YouTube user Itsjustsomerandomguy and his crew of animators back in '07. We've featured a lot of his work here at CA, but this is probably the short best suited for this time of year.

Check it out after the jump.

I'm not sure about you, but I really want some new Batman toys all of a sudden.
