Vertigo continues its recent tendencies to reclaim titles of DC Comics anthologies of yore with the announcement of Time Warp, a new/old title to debut next March that'll showcase stories by "comic book greats and up-and-coming stars of tomorrow."The title was announced at MTV Geek, with creators named for the book including Damon Lindelof, Jeff Lemire, Matt Kindt, Toby Litt, Mark Buckingham, Dan Abnett, Peter Milligan, Ray Fawkes, Simon Spurrier, Gail Simone, Rafael Albuquerque and Tom Fowler; neither the MTV Geek piece nor the Vertigo blog announcement specified whether or not Time Warp was a one-shot -- in keeping in the tradition of recent Vertigo anthologies -- or not, but note that ten of those twelve named creators are writers, which either means a particularly packed anthology one-off, or a series of some sort.

Time Warp was originally a science-fiction anthology title from the late 1970s that featured work by Steve Ditko, Gil Kane and Jim Aparo, amongst many others; Vertigo's re-use of the title follows its similar use of Ghosts, Strange Adventures, Mystery in Space and The Unexpected. DC's superhero line has recently gotten in on the act with the February-shipping Young Romance, reviving a 1950s title by the publisher.

Time Warp will be released March 20, 2013.
