We thought it unlikely that Arrow could spawn yet another CW spinoff with The Atom joining The Flash, but it turns out the network’s real plan is infinitely crazier. The CW is reportedly working on a new series to feature not only Brandon Routh’s Atom, but also Victor Garber’s Firestorm, Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold, and craziest of all, Caity Lotz’s Black Canary!

Deadline first broke word of the potential project, which remains in a developmental state targeted for a straight-to-season order in early 2016. According to the (completely insane) report, the new series would feature among the leads Routh’s Ray Palmer, Garber’s Dr. Martin Stein (apparently not Robbie Amell), Miller’s Leonard Snart, and Caity Lotz. Given Lotz’s character Sara Lance’s current Arrow season 3 fate however, it remains uncertain what her role might actually be, if not Canary.

Perhaps most intriguing (read: further insane), the new spinoff would also include three major DC Comics characters who have never before appeared on live-action TV, along with potentially further Arrow or Flash characters. Promisingly, Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim would all come aboard the new series creatively.

It stands to reason that FOX’s Gotham and CBS’ Supergirl would keep to their own independent continuities, lest The CW go completely drunk with power and absorb all our lives into a televised DC universe. This … this sounds completely insane, guys. I have no idea what to make of it. Grodd help us all.
