Unknown Assasins Strike In ‘Assassin’s Creed: Uprising’ #1 [Preview]
An ancient struggle is coming to a head in Assassin's Creed: Uprising #1, written by Dan Watters and Alex Paknadel with art by José Holder. This is the beginning of a new series, set in the present day and starring Charlotte de la Cruz, the assassin who was previously featured in Titan's recently-ended Assassin's Creed series.
As Uprising opens, the Phoenix Project, an effort by the Templar-run Abstergo Industries to use DNA sequencing to recreate the First Civilization, is almost complete, and the Assassins will have to deal with the implications of that. Not mentioned in this first issue; the group Charlotte and her allies have rather violently come into contact with turn out not to be Templars at all, but unknown Assassins. What that might mean remains to be seen.
Assassin's Creed: Uprising #1 goes on sale Wednesday, February 1, and features covers by Holder, Alex Ronald, Sunsetagain, Jimbo Salgado, and Doubleleaf.
