Matt Molgaard of "I Am Rogue" has just added some new ideas about who the villain could be in the third Batman movie. Cobbling together a rumor about at least a part of the film being shot in Louisiana and a few teaser tweets from Mark Millar, and came up with Killer Croc. Could he be the next villain to challenge Batman?

Millar tweeted:

-- "Oh, wait. Con gossip: I know who the villain(s) are in Batman 3 and the big scene outside Gotham sounds awesome. Totally timely locale."

-- "One of the villains is from my favourite childhood run on the character. Again, very unexpected."

As Molgaard speculated:

Millar's statements indicate the rumors of a New Orleans shoot could be possible. Keep in mind that New Orleans has plenty of swamps, and swamps have plenty of crocodiles. Killer Croc is a character who first appeared in 1983, when Millar was just 13 years old, no wonder he's a favorite of Millar.

Of all the Batman villains out there, Killer Croc seems an unlikely choice. The first three villains were real challenges for the Dark Knight. Physically, they couldn't stand up to him, but mentally they worked him over. Ras al Ghul pushed his moral limits. The Joker pushed everyone else's moral limits until Batman was just scrambling to catch up. Croc is just a big stupid guy who can throw big stupid rocks. The main challenge he presents is to the rocks.

Then again, maybe that makes him due for a character overhaul. As far as I know he hasn't been used in any other movies, which means that majority of the audience will be seeing him for the first time. When you're working as hard as Nolan at re-doing the entire concept of Batman movies, finally having an unknown villain to work with may be a great advantage. Not to mention, it might be nice seeing Batman go up against a guy who can throw a punch back at him.

What do you think? Does Molgaard make a good case? Does Croc?
