Fantastic Five: Strangest Licensed Comics
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics and pop culture.
This week we're looking at some of the most bizarre licensed properties that have ever made their way to your local comic shop!
Comics have been a fertile field for the creative expression for any number of licensed properties that ended up being better than they had any right to be, as well as truly awful, nonsensical wastes of everyone’s time. They’ve been where some properties go to be reborn and live again... or die and slowly fade away. There’s not quite as much of it now, but they used to give everything a comic. And I mean, everything. With the popularity of some of the more recent licensed comic hits, we thought this would be a good time to look at some all time, bizarro classics.
While this list features some all time greats, there are still so many unnecessary and/or insane licensed comics out there, so let us know your picks for the best of the worst in the comments.
