We all know that Bruce Wayne of Wayne Enterprises is a capitalist, but I had no idea how just strongly he believes in low, low prices until I saw this mid-'80s televisionad for Zeller's, a large department store chain in Canada, via TR.

In a commercial that must have been approved by DC at some point, the homicidal insanity of the Joker is conflated with -- I guess the high prices of other stores? -- while an elastic-faced Batman with a voice like Lion-O insists that "this is no laughing matter" and demands that shoppers purchase their wares at Zeller's, where "low prices are the law."

Man, Batman is a seriously intense dude, even when he's hawking wares.
