Cartoon Network has pulled Beware the Batman off the air, even though it's only been part of its Saturday morning schedule since mid-July. The next episode, which was scheduled for this Saturday, won't be running.

Fans can hold out a little hope, though: Anthony Ruivivar, the actor who voices Batman on the show, Tweeted that it may return in January.

World's Finest reports that unnamed sources have stated the show will return in early 2014.

Cartoon Network hasn't confirmed that, though. Its official statement to ComicsAlliance makes the situation seem a little more dire:

Currently, Beware the Batman is no longer on our air. DC Nation will continue on Saturday mornings at 10/9c with new exclusive shorts and a full hour of encore episodes of Teen Titans Go!

Cartoon Network's move will be familiar to fans of WB Animation's DC shows. CN abruptly pulled Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series from its lineup a year ago, only to promise new episodes in January of this year. Weeks after coming back, those shows were pulled again. Some point to a downward trend in action programming and a uptick in shows that are principally comedies, like the new Teen Titans Go!, which effectively replaced Young Justice as DC Nation's programming block anchor.
