With all the talk within the industry about a new "heroic" age in the works following DC's "Blackest Night" and Marvel's "Siege" events, it's nice to know something of a fun, cartoony age is already underway in at least two upcoming Marvel releases.

Robot 6 unleashed an exclusive preview of Ryan Dunlavey's upcoming digital "Fall of the Hulks: M.O.D.O.K." tie-in yesterday, while Newsarama debuted Roger Langridge's variant cover from "Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers Unleashed" #1.

Dunlavey's lively style has repeatedly won our praise in the past and this certainly isn't his first M.O.D.O.K. rodeo having released a separate special last year. It's still great to see him back in the mental organism's hovering driver's seat.

Langride caught my attention last year when I tried out Boom! Studio's "The Muppet Show," so it's pretty great to see his lines making the rounds at Marvel - on a sequel to one of my favorite series of 2009, no less.

I'm all for seriousness in my weekly reading, but I gotta say, I'm already infected by the pending fun I'm sure to have reading both of these books and I wouldn't mind even more similar fare in the future.
