‘Comic Book Comics #6′ Tells the Story of Comics in Comics [Exclusive Preview]
Action Philosophers all-stars Fred Van Lente and Ryan Dunlavey have spent the better part of the past few years chronicling a concise history of the comic book industry in their appropriately titled series Comic Book Comics. Much the same way Scott McCloud has used sequential art to teach readers about comics in his "Understanding" books, they've harnessed the power of the medium to take readers through a six-issue meta-tour of comics from the debut of Richard F. Outcault's The Yellow Kid to the modern day.
The final issue of the series, Comic Book Comics #6: Comics of the Future, arrives in print and digital formats on November 23, covering the direct market's birth, first boom and subsequent first bust. Hit the jump for an exclusive 5-page preview from Comic Book Comics #6 and be sure to hit CA tomorrow for a second, even longer preview from the title.
