The first season of Marvel’s Daredevil separated itself from dim shades of Batman Begins or Arrow with some of the most practical, extended fight choreography ever put to screen, and Season 2 will be no different. Following the legendary hallway fight, Charlie Cox says Season 2 has at least one epic fight that’s “almost like that scene on crack.”

Among his other headline-worthy quotes from the TCA press tour, Cox spoke to reporters (h/t IGN) of Season 2's increased action scale, particularly now that Elodie Yung’s Elektra and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will bring their own fighting styles into the mix. Naturally, one wonders how Season 2 might attempt to out do the climactic hallway fight of “Cut Man,” to which Cox claims:

In terms of this season, there are a number of really good fights. There is one in particular that I’m really excited about because it’s kind of like an homage to that scene, but it’s almost like that scene on crack.

Added Bernthal:

I think once you introduce a character like Frank Castle, once you introduce a character like Elektra, the stakes are raised a little bit in terms of the fighting. All of the sudden you’re talking about weapons. Different questions are being brought up. I think what is the genius of Phil Silvera, the fight coordinator and stunt coordinator who choreographs these fights, is the fights are all character-driven and the fights tell a story. It’s not just to look pretty or to look cool.

Elsewhere of Daredevil Season 2, we know for sure that Rosario Dawson has been confirmed to reprise her role as Claire Temple, along with Scott Glenn’s Stick. In addition to Elodie Yung’s Elektra and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, past Bullseye reports listed Marvel’s Mister Fear and Spider-Man villain Mysterio as potential villains for the season as well, though no confirmations have emerged. Drew Goddard remains aboard as a consultant, though the series has changed showrunners from Steven DeKnight to Marco Rodriguez and Doug Petrie.
