Dark Horse Announces ‘The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts’ For 2017
After 2013's The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, you could probably be forgiven for thinking that there's not much more Legend of Zelda material left to collect. That was, after all, a massive hardcover that featured 280 pages of art and information that took readers through the thirty-year history of the beloved video game franchise --- and considering that it was one of the biggest books of the year, it certainly accomplished its goal of giving long-time fans everything they wanted.
It turns out, however, that there was more. A lot more. Like, four hundred pages more, from concept art to illustrations from the instruction manuals to promotional images for everything from the original NES game all the way up to the upcoming Breath of the Wild.
Now, Dark Horse and Nintendo are teaming up once again to collect it in a massive hardcover called Art and Artifacts, set for release next year. Check out a preview below!
I have to say, I like that the cover matches Hyrule Historia's, just in a different color. And since that book's green obviously forms the baseline, I'm going to assume that the red cover of Art & Artifacts means that it has resistance to fire. Uh, but maybe don't test that one out for yourself.
Here's the official word:
