Despite the underperformance of the movie in the States, everything seems to be coming up Dredd these days nonetheless. Not only is the strip seeing a new high point in the weekly 2000AD anthology and the character about to see the launch of an all-new American monthly series from IDW, but later this month, the world will finally get a collection of Dredd's multiple team-ups with DC Comics' Batman from the 1990s.Co-published by 2000AD in the UK and DC Comics in the US, The Batman/Judge Dredd Collection collects the four team-ups published between 1991 and 1998 and written by Dredd creator John Wagner with longtime collaborator Alan Grant (Judgment on Gotham, Vendetta in Gotham, The Ultimate Riddle, and Die Laughing) in oversized hardcover format, showcasing fully-painted art by Simon Bisley, Preacher artist Glenn Fabry and the cruelly-underrated-in-the-US Cam Kennedy, amongst others.

Despite the title, the collection isn't just limited to Batman/Dredd team-ups; it also collects the Dredd/Lobo one-shot Lobo/Judge Dredd: Psycho Bikers vs. Mutants From Hell from 1995 by Wagner, Grant and Val Semeiks, making it a surprisingly comprehensive compendium of the Lawman of The Future's trips into the DC Universe (because, really, who remembers that that comic even existed?). We can only hope that this co-publishing deal means that the likelihood of getting reprints of DC's out-of-continuity Judge Dredd series from the same period has just increased...

The Batman/Judge Dredd Collection is released November 21 in the US, November 28 in the UK.
