For a certain contingency of fans, the casting of Scott Adkins in Doctor Strange was just as exciting as Mads Mikkelsen or Tilda Swinton was for everyone else. The action star and martial arts pro’s role in the film remains a mystery, and while neither Adkins nor Marvel have confirmed exactly who (or what) he’s playing in Doctor Strange, the actor has opened up just a little bit about his experience and what we can expect from the Sorcerer Supreme’s solo outing.

While promoting his new film Criminal, Adkins told Hey U Guys about his experience working on Doctor Strange:

Well, this is a big film but obviously that is a huge film with a huge budget and a lot of eyes looking on that project. It was amazing. Great experience. Brilliant working with Benedict Cumberbatch and Mads Mikkelsen. Again…great actors.

It’s interesting that Adkins mentions working with Mikkelsen, who plays the film’s villain (speculated by many to be either Dormammu or Nightmare). Adkins’ martial arts training would be well-suited to an antagonistic role, so maybe he’ll be fighting alongside Mikkelsen?

As for what we can expect from the film, Adkins reiterated what we’ve heard a few times before, saying that Doctor Strange is from “a different side of the Marvel universe” and that we’ll see “some psychedelic other dimensions, and all sorts of stuff.”

Directed by Scott Derrickson (Sinister), the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, with Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Michael Stuhlbarg as Dr. Nicodemus West, Bendict Wong as Wong, and Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen and Amy Landecker in mystery roles.

Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4. The first trailer drops this Tuesday, April 12.
