‘Doctor Who’ Comics Return in 2011 from IDW
Just when you thought all your friends had run out of British things you don't understand to talk about on Twitter, IDW Publishing announces the return of its popular "Doctor Who" comic book franchise. Beginning in January, the new "Doctor Who" ongoing series by writer Tony Lee and Artist Andrew Currie (with covers by Tommy Lee Edwards) will depict the four-color adventures of the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) and his new companions on a monthly basis.
IDW's new ongoing comic book series promises not to dial down the excitement, offering holographic spam fighting Mad Max-esque mercenaries, Victorian Jack The Ripper suspense, penalty shoot-outs against Vikings and Cybernetic Space Pirate Dinosaurs among the many adventures that the Eleventh Doctor will be having. Said IDW's DOCTOR WHO editor Denton J. Tipton, "There's going to be something for everyone in this story. For example, fans of the classic series should be on the look out for a classic DOCTOR WHO villain!"
The official press release notes that fans can expect a number of supporting features and creators involved with "Doctor Who," including "Fables" star Mark Buckingham, Kelley Yates, Matthew Dow Smith and Chris Samnee.
