The Flash Season 2 never quite wound up a full trailer the way Arrow opted for Season 4, but has still afforded plenty of looks at its new adventures. That said, a new promo offers the most tantalizing tidbit yet, as we finally get a look at “demon speedster” big bad Zoom, as voiced by Tony Todd himself.

Teasing “The Best of Both Worlds,” our latest look at Flash Season 2 speeds out a bit more of the friendship between Barry Allen and Jay Garrick, amusingly called “The Crimson Comet” on his own world, compared to Barry’s “Scarlet Speedster.” Most importantly, we get what appears to be our first glimpse of Zoom, described previously by producer Andrew Kreisberg as:

Much more organic than the Reverse-Flash suit. In a way, it’s hard to tell if it is a suit or alive… There’s no skin showing, for all you know there’s a robot underneath, or dark energy.

So reads the CW’s premiere synopsis of “The Man Who Saved Central City”:

BARRY DECIDES HE NEEDS TO PROTECT THE CITY ON HIS OWN

Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own. When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force.

Thus far, we know of The Flash Season 2 that The Messengers alum Shantel VanSanten will guest as DC character and Barry’s new love interest Patty Spivot, joining Masters of Sex alum Teddy Sears as Golden Age speedster Jay Garrick, Insurgent star Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Adam “Edge” Copeland’s Atom Smasher, Violett Beane as Jesse Quick and Demore Barnes as Firestorm villain Tokamak. We’ll also see the returns of Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold and Golden Glider (including their father), and likely others, while both Barry (and Jay!) have some spiffy new duds.
