As exciting as the robust "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World" soundtrack is, my chiptunes obsession ultimately pushes any and all news about the Anamanaguchi scored "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World: The Game" to the forefront of my mind, heart and soul. It's not that I don't like both soundtracks, but only one crackles with pure synthetic tonal nostalgia.

That's why I was thrilled to see Anamanaguchi link to PlayStation blog, where fans can sample four of the upcoming game's tracks including "Twin Dragons," "Suburban Tram," "This is the End" and the "Scott Pilgrim Theme." Each track was selected for discussion by a member of the band, each sharing an anecdote about their selected song's place in the game.

The clips are much shorter than Bryan Lee O'Malley's tease of the game's "Last Winter" jam from a few weeks back, but it's more than enough to keep fans' appetites whetted as they wait for the game's August 10 release date on the PlayStation Network (and later on the Xbox). Now if only we had a release date for the game soundtrack itself...[Via Twitter]
