Plenty of concept art and set photos from Guardians of the Galaxy have popped up over the past several months, but Marvel is closing out 2013 with its first official look at the characters from James Gunn's space-faring flick.

Click through to check out the full photo of what looks like an intergalactic police lineup lineup featuring Gamora, Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax the Destroyer, and Groot.

The actors in the photo are, from left to right, Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), and Dave Bautista (Drax). Rocket Raccoon and Groot are voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, respectively. Not pictured is Doctor Who alum Karen Gillan, who has been sporting a bald head for her role as Nebula.

The lineup is actually for the benefit of Nova Corps officers played by John C. Reilly and Peter Serafinowicz. Here's ScreenCrush's description of the scene from which the image comes, which was part of the Comic-Con trailer for the movie:

In the trailer, Reilly sizes them up and says, “They call themselves the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’” to which Serafinowicz’s officer replies, “What a bunch of a–holes.”

It’s a great moment in the trailer and sets up the team as a ragtag, Bad News Bears-y group of heroes, instead of a team like The Avengers.

Guardians of the Galaxy opens in theaters August 1.
