Debuting in December from IDW Publishing is Memorial #1, written by Chris Roberson and drawn by Rich Ellis with covers by Michael Kaluta. The story follows the adventures of a young woman with a past mysterious even to herself who comes into possession of a magical street shop that occasionally vanishes. Roberson, who also writes the highly acclaimed and Eisner-nominated series iZombie and Cinderalla titles for Vertigo, describes Memorial as "a kind of cross between Doctor Who and Sandman by way of Miyazaki. A comic about memory and magic, mythology and mystery."

While Memorial #1 doesn't go on sale until December, it can be pre-ordered now at finer comics shops. A preview of the series is appearing in various IDW titles on sale throughout the month of October, as well as a free download from the IDW digital comics app. Courtesy of the publisher, ComicsAlliance brings you that 11-page preview of Memorial #1 after the cut.

New York Times best-selling author and Eisner-nominated creator of iZombie, Chris Roberson, delivers a magical new ongoing series. With art by the fantastical Rich Ellis, and covers by the legendary Michael WM Kaluta. MEMORIAL is the story of Em, a young woman who arrives at a hospital in Portland, Oregon with no memory of her past. A year later, she has managed to rebuild her life, finding a job and friends, when her existence is thrown into turmoil after she inherits a magical shop, the kind that appears in an alley one instant and disappears the next. Em finds herself drawn into a supernatural conflict between immortal beings representing the fundamental aspects of the universe itself. All of existence is at stake, and the only things standing in the way of total oblivion are Em, the magical shop, and a talking cat.
