Marissa Meyer's The Lunar Chronicles series of Young Adult books have captured imaginations around the world, and there's so much backstory and so many fan-favorite characters to explore that it can't be contained within the world of prose any longer. Next month, Meyer makes her comics debut as the writer of Wires and Nerve, an original graphic novel with art by Doug Holgate, which stars fan-favorite android Iko hunting down a rogue wolf-soldier captain.

If you're unfamiliar with the Lunar Chronicles series of novels, they take place in a futuristic world where androids, cyborgs, and human/animal hybrids exist, and man has colonised the moon. The series of five stories are sci-fi fairy tales, starring futuristic interpretations of the likes of Cinderella, Snow White and Red Riding Hood banding together to bring down the evil queen Levan.

Wires and Nerve's protagonist Iko is an android, and best friend to Cinder, the series' Cinderella analogue. Due to a glitch in her programming, she often forgets she is not a real woman, and has a stronger personality than most androids display. The upcoming graphic novel sees Iko taking it upon herself to hunt down the wolf-soldiers that threaten peace between Earth and its Lunar colony, and along the way she'll have to team up with a handsome royal guard to get the job done.

Wires and Nerve is on sale from Feiwel & Friends on January 31, 2017. Check out the excerpt from chapter one below:
