Mikael Aguirre’s Video Game Inspired Frescoes Are Beautiful Recreations Of Our Misspent Youth
I've been thinking a lot about video games lately, and how I'm better at getting around imaginary worlds like Super Mario World or CastleVania: Symphony of the Night than I am with streets in my own hometown. As Tom Scioli put it once, there are these characters and ideas that we spend so much of our life with, but never really think about in those terms.
Or at least, I didn't. Mikaël Aguirre, an artist whose incredible work specializes in frescoes and paintings that recreate those familiar scenarios the way we remember them, more than the way they actually were. Check 'em out below!
