After months of magazine covers, viral marketing campaigns, and loving portraits of Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask, X-Men fans are finally getting another chance to see X-Men: Days of Future Past's massive cast of characters in action via a brand new trailer.

Check out two-and-a-half minutes of Patrick Stewart narrating and Ian McKellen expositioning after the jump!

The movie certainly looks huge and is undoubtedly ambitious, but it's hard to imagine how this much plot and these many characters will fit into one movie unless it's about seven hours long. The last we saw of the current timeline in The Wolverine, things definitely did not seem to have been this bad. And if the war with the Sentinels has been brewing since the 1970s, why hadn't we heard anything about it in any of the previous films?

Time travel plots, am I right?

X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is directed by Bryan Singer and stars Stewart, McKellen, Dinklage, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page, Halle Berry, and approximately 1,000 other actors, opens in theaters May 23.
