This week sees the release of Marvel Studios' latest cinematic offering Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the arrogant and enigmatic sorcerer. In anticipation of the film's release, Comixology has a sale on some of the most must-have Doctor Strange collections, including one of the very best original graphic novels Marvel has ever released.

Of course, I'm talking about Roger Stern and Mike Mignola's Doctor Strange & Doctor Doom: Triumph And Torment, which I actually read for the very first time yesterday. I found it to be so good that I read it again later that evening. That's how great this comic is. The premise is that Doom enlists Strange to journey to Hell with him to try and retrieve his mother's soul from eternal damnation, but as is always the case with Doom, things are not quite what they seem.

The story has one of those genius plots that only the criminally underrated Stern could come up with, digging deep into the history of both characters to provide them both with new forward momentum. As for the art, what else can I say other than it's Mike freaking Mignola drawing Doctor Strange, Doctor Doom, and Mephisto, while paying homage to the fantastical layouts of Steve Ditko.

Also worth checking out in the sale is Doctor Strange: The Oath by Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin, as well as the first volume of Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo's run on the current Doctor Strange title. Plus you won't want to miss out on Doctor Strange: Marvel Masterworks Vol. 1, which features over three hundred pages of Stan Lee/Steve Ditko hotness.

For all those titles and more, check out Comixology's current Doctor Strange sale.
