With "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" and "The Marvelous Land of Oz" under their belts, the Eisner Award-winning team of writer Eric Shanower and artist Skottie Young are poised to let loose their third of 14 possible L. Frank Baum adaptations for a new generation with "Ozma of Oz" #1 on November 3. To celebrate the occasion, Marvel Comics has provided us with a first look at the issue's variant cover by Adrian Alphona and Christina Strain to compliment their 4-page preview of the title's interiors.

If you haven't tried Marvel's "Oz" books before, Associate Editor Nate Cosby wants you to know what makes "Ozma" a good place to start, "'Ozma of OZ is a perfect jumping-on point for new readers, because it's the return of Dorothy! She's a little older, more experienced with the craziness of Oz...which is good, because she's about to encounter a talking chicken, a super-weird robot and the scariest thing Oz has to offer that's not a witch...THE WHEELERS."

Cosby was also quick to point out Shanower's strength on the series given his multiple decades of experience adapting and adding to Baum's original Oz mythos, with numerous comic projects, short stories, illustrated novels under his belt, "Eric is probably the world's foremost Oz expert, having written so much on the subject before he came on the Marvel project. He knows exactly what needs to be included in these adaptations, and is so good at determining what should be cut out for the sake of clarity. He's a well-paced, excited, perfectly cast storyteller."
