Fans of the original Teen Titans lineup have something to look forward to on this weekend's episode of "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" on Cartoon Network. Of course, given the show's differences from the DCU proper, there's a few faces missing from the lineup.

Here's the official synopsis of the episode, which airs tonight at 7:30 p.m.:

"Aqualad, Robin and Speedy have had it with being bossed around and demand a piece of the action, but they get more than they bargained for when they find themselves facing off against Ra's Al-Ghul and his flying island!"

It's kind of a bummer that the group doesn't include any of the Teen Titans' female members, but the factors contributing to their absence make it a matter of logic rather than simply accommodating a target audience of young boys (and manchildren like myself). After all, there's no Wonder Woman on the show, so a Wonder Girl cameo wouldn't make sense. It's the same reasoning that merits Kid Flash's absence given that Jay Garrick is the show's speedster rather than Wally West.

Ah well, maybe the group dynamic will change next season. The show is always pretty good about acknowledging its distinct continuity, so maybe there'll be a surprise at the end or a fun Easter Egg implying future team ups. You can check out clips at Comics Continuum in the meantime.
