Zack Snyder made a lot of enemies with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but critical dressing-down and scattered fan backlash won’t stop him. To quote esteemed post-structural thinker Missy ‘Misdemeanor’ Elliott: to those of you who hated, you only made Zack Snyder more creative. The director has redoubled his efforts as he continues work on the post-production process for the Justice League movie due November 17. They wrapped shooting back in October, so all that’s left is the time-consuming and often tedious process of digitally piecing the film together in the editing suite. But ever the barker for his corner of the D.C. universe, Snyder has offered his many supporters a glimpse into the in-progress cut that he’s toying with at present.

Bad superhero games rise above the rabble of other bad games because they take such potential, such easily-obtained greatness and squander it so, so very badly, creating a product which infuriates comic book fans and video game fans. With that in mind, now that we've celebrated the best the world of superhero games has to offer, let's check out the dirty underside of this world and plunge ourselves into the muck and filth of the 10 Worst Superhero Games.

Things were weird for everyone in the Silver Age, but they were all the weirder for Aquaman. Living under the ocean, surrounded by sea life, and in an era when accurate science was even less of a priority for comic book storytelling, basically anything could happen to Aquaman as long as it involved water. This gallery showcases some of his strangest moments from the Silver Age, featuring material from Adventure Comics and Aquaman's solo title.

Based on the images we’ve seen so far (and just the images), it’s fair to assume that Justice League is a movie about A. a long-haired metal-head who starts a rock cover band with a group of people in unnecessarily elaborate costumes, or B. a team of superheroes who spend their time aggressively posing and staring at things offscreen. Either way, it seems like it could be a good time.

Over the past week, Aquaman’s casting has really started to take shape, with Nicole Kidman and The Get Down’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in talks to join Jason Momoa in the new superhero film from director James Wan. You can add another interesting name to the list of potential stars, as Temuera Morrison (best known to certain fans as Jango Fett) is also in talks to play a key role.

The plot of the solo Aquaman movie has just thickened. Until now, we figured that Orm would serve as the movie’s main villain, making us a little nervous that it was stray too much into the territory of the first Thor movie. But worry not, because Aquaman’s villain is going to be someone much more nefarious: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (The Get Down) has just been cast as Aquaman’s nemesis Black Manta.

Things are heating up for the Justice League lately. We’ve got two new photos of the team in action (which mainly involves just standing around in costume), and now the Aquaman gang has gotten together for their first reading of the script. Director James Wan posted a photo on his Twitter account of him palling around with Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, and the hero himself, Jason Momoa.

The first ever comic convention on a cruise took place last weekend on Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas sailing from Tampa, Florida, to Cozumel, Mexico. Despite the unusual venue, Fan2Sea featured everything you'd expect from a landlocked con, including panels, signings, parties, screenings and, of course, cosplay. Being out at sea didn't stop these dedicated cosplayers from pulling out their best looks, often with a strong nautical theme, whether it was a seafaring Deadpool or two, or a watery Disney villain like Ursula or Tamatoa. Last week, I wrote about "Manhunt on Land," an Aquaman story where he drove around in a pickup truck full of fish to track down a sea crook who had taken to land for the express purpose of avoiding being dragged back to jail by Aquaman. That in and of itself is a solid premise, but what really makes it interesting is that it was a strange little rarity of the Silver Age: It was actually a crossover with a Green Arrow story in the same issue. Sadly, the second half doesn't have the immediate hook of a pickup truck that's also an aquarium, but it's definitely a story worth talking about --- not just because of the unusual crossover element, but because it has one of the most shocking endings I've ever read. And for the Silver Age, that's saying something.

I've made my share of jokes about him before, but I'm really starting to think that 2017 is going to be the year that I do my best to get into Aquaman. As much as I love DC's Silver Age, he's my biggest blind spot of the entire era, and it's time to fix that. There's just one problem: I don't think I actually like reading about underwater adventure, and that's... that's gonna be an issue. But maybe there's hope. This week, Twitter's own @YellFeat and Local Aquaman Expert Megan Nielsen alerted me to the existence of "Manhunt On Land," a story where Aquaman takes on a landlocked crime spree by loading up a pickup truck with his underwater friends and driving around with a fishbowl on his head. And it's amazing.
