Welcome to Wayne’s World, the latest ComicsAlliance TV recap series, jumping right into the middle of the third season of Fox’s Gotham, the show about the childhood of Bruce Wayne and the world of Batman before Batman. This week, the city of Gotham plunges into chaos as Jerome takes Bruce Wayne out to the carnival in the Gotham winter finale.

The first ever comic convention on a cruise took place last weekend on Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas sailing from Tampa, Florida, to Cozumel, Mexico. Despite the unusual venue, Fan2Sea featured everything you'd expect from a landlocked con, including panels, signings, parties, screenings and, of course, cosplay. Being out at sea didn't stop these dedicated cosplayers from pulling out their best looks, often with a strong nautical theme, whether it was a seafaring Deadpool or two, or a watery Disney villain like Ursula or Tamatoa. Q: As a Batmanologist, what misinformation about Batman do you wish you could set everyone straight on? -- @daveexmachina A: There's one misconception about Batman that bugs me the most, because it's simultaneously the most persistent, the most ridiculous from a storytelling standpoint, and the easiest to disprove: The idea that Bruce Wayne doesn't actually do anything to help Gotham City, and that Batman is just a rich man selfishly and violently lashing out at the lower class.

I'm going to tell you this right up front: This Nerdist video that presents a what-if scenario about the Waynes faking their deaths instead of really being killed in Crime Alley will inspire a lot of quibbles. You'll want to quibble with it like crazy. I know I did. Fight that urge, because it is genuinely funny.

If you weren't aware, Reddit has a section called "Ask Science Fiction," which is essentially a space in the Internet for people to ask for explanations of details in fictional stories ("When and why did the Decepticons and Autobots split apart?") or consider fictional "what if" scenarios ("What would cause someone to lose their connection to The Force?"). Last week, someone asked, "If Batman were to operate in real life, how fast would it take for his identity to be revealed?" The answers are pretty entertaining.

Viewers have had plenty of opportunities to see the lead characters of Fox's new not-Batman-we're-serious series Gotham staring ahead and looking solemn, but they haven't seen everyone just yet. Entertainment Weekly has published eight new character portaits, and though they include some familiar faces -- Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Jada Pinkett-Smith as Fish Mooney, and David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, to name a few --the feature also comes with some new ones. Not only are viewers getting their first really good look at Edward Nygma, a.k.a. the Riddler (Cory Michael Smith), they're also seeing the show's version of Poison Ivy, played by Clare Foley. You'll notice she's not Pamela Isley anymore.

The producers of the new FOX TV series Gotham have made it abundantly clear that the show will focus on Jim Gordon, not Batman, but apparently David Mazouz, the 13-year-old actor who will play Bruce Wayne on the show, didn't get the memo, because a photo from the set shows he's carrying around his own Bat-mask.
