Fantastic Five: Best Ghost Busters In Comics
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics. This week, for absolutely no reason at all whatsoever in particular, we are counting down the five best ghost punchers, witch hunters, and monster wrestlers in comics. The occult detective has been a popular character trope since the 19th century, and heroic figures fighting monsters has been common in mainstream comics since the revision of the Comics Code Authority in the 1970s. This video takes a look at five different characters who ain't afraid of no ghosts and take it upon themselves to stand as guardians between the worlds of the living and the dead.

Oni Press Launches Humble Bundle
By the end of 2014, it might be tough to name a comics publisher that hasn't offered up a Humble Bundle deal. Oni Press is the latest publisher to join the ranks of the Humble Bundle crowd (others include Top Shelf, Valiant Comics, and Boom Studios), though it's put a bit of a spin on its offering of 24 titles and more than 2,500 pages of comics. Buyers can choose to donate the proceeds from their purchase to the charity Direct Relief, an organization helping to treat and contain the Ebola outbreak in Africa, among other humanitarian causes.

For over ten years, Ted Naifeh's Courtney Crumrin series has been one of the most compelling and consistently entertaining horror comics on the stands. In a story of a young girl who moves to a strange town and meets her sinister (and magical) uncle, Naifeh pit his title character against all manner of spooks, haunts and witchcraft, all of which crashed to an ending in last week's Courtney Crumrin #10, the final issue of a monthly serial that built on four full-color hardcovers of adventure. The end result is a prestigious library of work for Oni Press, something that rivals the mighty Scott Pilgrim in scope and the best of any publisher in quality.
