'Legends of Tomorrow' Adds 'Firefly' Favorite Jewel Staite
Both Arrow and The Flash have made entire industries of geek-friendly casting, so it’s only fair Legends of Tomorrow follow the trend. Fan-favorite Firefly falum (okay, alum) Jewel Staite will cross paths with the Legends of Tomorrow later this season, and may herself have some famous DC forebears.
A Level-By-Level Journey Into The Batman '89 Video Game
I was an unabashed fan of the 1989 Batman movie around the time of its release (particularly after it hit VHS), but the years have worn down my appreciation of it, and quite a few aspects of it don't entirely stand up to the scrutiny of a critical lens anymore. There are a few pieces of media related to the film, however, that I feel just as positively about as I ever have. The Prince soundtrack, for one. And for another, the Sunsoft-developed game for the Nintendo Entertainment System that included a few cutscenes with lines from the movie, and largely ditched its plot otherwise. I took a stroll down memory lane with it, and it still holds up.
Funko & Super7's New 3.75" ReAction Movie Figures Arrive
When Funko announced that they'd be teaming with Super7 to mass produce and distribute the 3.75" ReAction line, it seemed fan dreams of owing toys in the style of Kenner's 1977 Star Wars figures across both classic and contemporary pop culture licenses were going to come true. Little did anyone know just HOW true. Thanks to new images at Entertainment Earth, collectors can now have a look at
ComicsAlliance Recaps Every Serenity Comic (So Far)
Though Buffy has legions of fans, and The Avengers is the third-highest-grossing movie of all time, many would argue that Joss Whedon’s greatest contribution to nerd culture is the Serenity universe. A moving sci-fi/western with equal parts darkness, humor, and heart, even cancellation couldn’t kill it. After the Serenity movie finished up the tale that Firefly never got a chance to finish, Dark Horse started sporadically publishing comics to bridge the gap, and loyal Browncoats have been lapping them up ever since. Now a new mini-series will be picking up the story after the movie, the six-issue Leaves on the Wind by Zack Whedon and Georges Jeanty, and it’s looking like this will be the last Serenity comic with a Whedon in the writer’s credit for quite some time. With that in mind, here’s a look at all the Serenity comics so far, how they fit into the timeline, and the leftover secrets from Firefly that they reveal. Fair warning: if you’ve only seen Firefly and the movie, this article will spoil your face off. And if you’ve never even seen Firefly, a) why are you even bothering with this article and b) for Christ’s sake go watch it right now!
Joss Whedon's Brother Zack To Write 'Serenity' Comic
Buffy the Vampire Slayer came back as a comic, so why not Firefly? Dark Horse Comics must have wondered the same thing, because that's exactly what's happening. The first issue of Serenity: Leaves on the Wind is set for release January 29. It'll be written by Zack Whedon, brother of Joss Whedon and an accomplished screenwriter in his own right, and art will be by Georges Jeanty, who Whedonites wi

New 'Batman: Arkham Origins' Screenshots Include A Few Mystery Characters
We've already gotten a look at one previously unnamed character appearing in Batman: Arkham Origins this week, but some new screenshots from the WB Games Montreal title show Firefly isn't the only surprise in store. One of the shots depicts Batman getting ready to pummel some rabbit-masked thugs point pretty clearly to The Mad Hatter, who we actually saw in a previous image. Other images include A
New 'Batman: Arkham Origins' Trailer's Got Firefly, Gordon, Alfred, And A Lot Of Bad Guys [Video]
A new trailer for WB Games Montreal's Batman: Arkham Origins offers a reminder that the Dark Knight's got "eight assassins after head," and offers up a pretty good look at what he'll be dealing with. Big boss Black Mask, The Joker, Bane, Deathstroke, Copperhead, and the just-announced Firefly all make appearances. Not only that, but pair of cutscenes with Alfred and James Gordon (presum
