Sony PlayStation’s first original series, Powers managed to handcuff a second season to debut in 2016, for which the first season finale left a staggering mystery. Now at Comic-Con 2015, the Powers panel reveals the addition of fan-favorite writer Ben Edlund, some candid reflection on Season 1, and a major new superhero to boot.

After years spent in development hell just getting to air in the first place, PlayStation’s Powers TV series adaptation is officially here to stay. The gaming network has confirmed that Powers will return for Season 2 in 2016, keeping Detectives Walker and Pilgrim in the superhero game another year.

We’re admittedly intrigued to see what Sony comes up with for its first PlayStation original TV series, adapting Bendis and Oeming's revered superhero comic Powers. We’ve seen the trailer and a few photos, but the latest eight-minute preview goes behind-the-scenes to deliver our most comprehensive look at the world of Powers before its March 10 debut.

Perhaps the most popular American comic book writer working today, Brian Michael Bendis joined Seth Meyers on NBC's Late Night to promote his upcoming Powers TV show, and to pitch Marvel's Secret Wars event series to everyone out there in TV land. According to Variety, Seth Meyers' nightly show is seen by over 1.5 million viewers, which is surely the largest number of people to be confused by superhero comics continuity in any one moment -- at least since the original Secret Wars was published in 1984, when there were more people buying comics to be confused.

Hot from its debut at the Powers panel at New York Comic Con, the first trailer for Sony Playstation's live action Powers TV show is now online. Based on the Image-then-Icon comic series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, Powers is the story of two detectives, Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward), assigned to investigate crimes involving "Powers" -- people with superhuman abilities.

It's taken a good long while for Brian Michael Bendis' revered 'Powers' comic to finally get its own series, but with Sony TV and the Playstation Network officially backing a new adaptation with Sharlto Copley in the lead, it's time to suit up. Meet our new Detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim in the first official photo from forthcoming superhero drama 'Powers'!

Late last week it was announced that Eddie Izzard, Noah Taylor, and Olesya Rulin have joined the cast of Sony's Powers TV show as Wolfe, Johnny Royale, and Calista, respectively -- but that left two major roles unaccounted for in the adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's creator-owned superhero detective series. Now we finally have names for those roles. Sharlto Copley will play the male lead, Detective Christian Walker, while Michelle Forbes will play Retro Girl, the hero whose murder triggers the first Powers storyline in the comics. (The story is called "Who Killed Retro Girl," so we're going to say that's not a spoiler.)
