What if The Avengers formed a decade earlier, before Jack Kirby, Stan Lee and their fellow writers and artists at Marvel Comics had created Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk, Ant-Man and The Wasp? Before there even was a Marvel Comics? This was an idea explored in a classic What If, revived for the 2006 Agents of Atlas, and revived again for Secret Wars in October, Jimmy Woo, Namora, Marvel Boy, Gorilla-Man, Venus and M-11 the Human Robot, are returning in one of the domains of Secret Wars' Battleworld in the upcoming Secret Wars: Agents of Atlas. We spoke with writer Tom Taylor and editor Mark Paniccia about what we can look forward to.

If you thought all the tie-ins to Marvel's Secret Wars event were already underway, think again. There's at least one more miniseries coming this fall, and it's a doozy, because it's none other than the return of the critically acclaimed Agents of Atlas.

On Tuesday morning Whoopi Goldberg and the hosts of The View announced that Marvel will relaunch Thor this October with a 'worthy' woman brandishing the hammer. Marvel followed that announcement with two more high profile switcheroos on Wednesday night as Entertainment Weekly revealed a new-ish and possibly superior Iron Man, and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada joined comedian Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report to announce that a new guy will take up Captain America's shield. That in itself isn't much of a surprise -- original Cap Steve Rogers has passed on his mantle a few times, before eventually yanking it back. After spending some time in Dimension Z and fighting the Iron Nail and whatnot, he's now too old to Avenge from the front lines. The big reveal is that the new Captain America will be Sam Wilson, the African-American superhero currently known as Falcon.

Only Batman is eternal. Everything else ends. DC Comics has announced what the third weekly comic series debuting this year will be, and it's going to deal with Earth 2. Earth 2: World's End will kick off in October, joining the publisher's already-running weekly series, Batman Eternal, and the weekly series The New 52: Futures End, which debuts May 3.

DC Comics began its week-ish slate of Comic-Con programming with an "All Access" panel which mainly spotlighted previously announced publishing plans including the recently launched Trinity War and forthcoming Forever Evil and gave readers an opportunity to get some questions answered by: VP of Sales Bob Wayne, Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, Justice League Dark/Animal Man/Green Arro
