New Comic Style Skrull Coming in ‘The Avengers’ Action Figure Line

Though green, crinkly-chinned alien shapeshifters may or may not make up Loki's Army in The Avengers movie when it opens on May 4, Hasbro will at least include a comic book version of a skrull soldier in its action figure line. Set to arrive alongside movie versions of Hawkeye and Black Widow as early as next month, the upcoming figure is unique in that it doesn't share any pieces in common with the Marvel Universe skrull from 2010 and comes armed with some green/purple space axe rather than more conventional ray guns. Going up against a two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents specializing in projectile-based weapons with a space axe doesn't seem like a very good idea, but I guess we are talking about a species that was originally defeated by being tricked into turning into cows.
