First Theatrical Poster Released For ‘Thor: The Dark World’

In theaters this fall is Thor: The Dark World, the sequel to Marvel's previous film starring the God of Thunder, and the second follow up to last summer's The Avengers. Some set pictures have already popped up online, and today the studio has released the first poster for the film, with news that a trailer will arrive online Tuesday on iTunes Trailers.

Set one year after the events of The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World sees Asgard in battle against the invading forces of Malekith, ruler of the Dark Elves, as he seeks vengeance against Odin and the entire realm because of an ancient grudge.

The film features Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Anthony Hopkins (Odin) returning to their roles in the previous film, with Christopher Eccleston joining the cast as Malekith, a character created by Walter Simonson during his much celebrated run on The Mighty Thor.

Thor: The Dark World arrives in theaters November 8th, 2013.
