If superhero comics accurately portrayed the grinding tedium of the actual political process, it would probably make for pretty boring comics, which is why superheroes ultimately just punch everyone in the face rather than going through the proper channels. Which you can kind of understand when the fate of the world depends upon it, even if similarly high stakes don't inspire similar action hero antics from our leaders.

And while we don't really expect politicians to act like superheroes, what if superheroes acted like politicians? Inspired by the recent United Nations Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, cartoonist Matt Bors imagines what it would look like if the superhero community responded to a global danger like the arrival of Galactus with the same foot-dragging, factionalism, and denial of the response to global warming.
