Flash Back (To The Future) In ‘Batman Beyond’ #14 [Preview]
I think it's probably safe to say that we all love Batman Beyond, but if you haven't been keeping up with the current series from DC, well, you might want to sit down for this one. So, Terry McGinnis is dead after being killed by what is best described as a cybernetic Joker/Batman, and has been replaced by a time-traveling Tim Drake, who is now the new new Batman of the future. It's... It's complicated.
But if you've been missing Terry, don't fret too badly. In next week's issue by Dan Jurgens and Bernard Chang, Tim unravels the strange secret of Rewire, and young Matt McGinnis shows up to take us (and Tim) through a flashback to the glory days of Terry's tenure as the Batman of the Future. Check out a preview below!
I have to say, I cannot wait for the future to get to the part where we can all buy jogging clothes that look like they've been imported from Jack Kirby's Fourth World. Sadly, I don't think that beard is ever going to be back in style, even in the grim (yet neon-soaked) darkness of Neo New Gotham. It's just not very schway.
Here's the official solicitation:
