Luthor's never met a Superman (or anyone else) that he didn't try to manipulate. So it's not really a surprise when he shows up at the headquarters of the Chinese Justice League in New Super-Man #9, to take Kong on a trip to Metropolis.

Batman Beyond --- or as it was called on my side of the Atlantic, Batman of the Future --- has such a strong fanbase that it's no surprise that it's become a staple of DC's publishing slate since its revival in comics form. DC has provided us with an exclusive first look at Batman Beyond #5 by Dan Jurgens, Bernard Chang, Marcelo Maiolo, and Travis Lanham, which sees Terry McGinnis learning all sorts of secrets as he prepares for his final clash with the villainous Terminal.

Superhero comics have a long history of celebrity guest stars teaming up with the lead character, whether it's Jay Leno racing across town on a motorcycle with Spider-Man, or Superman taking on Muhammad Ali one-on-one. This December, Greg Pak and Luke Ross carry on this tradition as the Brooklyn Nets' Jeremy Lin makes a guest appearance in The Totally Awesome Hulk #13.

I think it's probably safe to say that we all love Batman Beyond, but if you haven't been keeping up with the current series from DC, well, you might want to sit down for this one. So, Terry McGinnis is dead after being killed by what is best described as a cybernetic Joker/Batman, and has been replaced by a time-traveling Tim Drake, who is now the new new Batman of the future. It's... It's complicated. But if you've been missing Terry, don't fret too badly. In next week's issue by Dan Jurgens and Bernard Chang, Tim unravels the strange secret of Rewire, and young Matt McGinnis shows up to take us (and Tim) through a flashback to the glory days of Terry's tenure as the Batman of the Future. DC Comics hosted a special livestream event at WonderCon in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon to unveil the creative teams behind its DC Rebirth event, which relaunches the entire DC Universe line with new issue #1s and multiple double-shipping titles. The relaunch will set the future course of DC Comics at a time when fans are wondering whether the company will embrace a new and diversifying audience or double down on serving a shrinking core audience. The event was introduced by DC All Access host Tiffany Smith, with DC co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio and chief creative officer and Rebirth chief architect Geoff Johns introducing and interviewing the creative teams as they joined them on stage at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

One of the great strengths of DC's digital-first line of comics is that it's a showcase both for emerging talent and for some unorthodox storytelling approaches. DC's digital wing plays to the strengths of the anthology format, telling the sort of stories that the main line just isn't interested in telling. For a character like Wonder Woman, an icon beloved by a lot of people who aren't invested in the rigmarole of month-to-month continuity, the approach is especially liberating. The latest writer to tackle Wonder Woman for the digital-first Sensation Comics series is Amy Chu, an up-and-comer who we've profiled in the past. Chu has collaborated on short stories with Larry Hama, Steve McNiven, and Janet K. Lee, and has self-published her comics through her Alpha Girl Comics imprint. Her Sensation Comics story, 'Rescue Angel,' tells a Wonder Woman tale with a focus on a different female warrior, a young combat pilot, with art by Bernard Chang and colors by Wendy Broome.

Last week, DC Comics and Geoff Johns announced that, after more than eight years and 100 issues, Johns would be stepping down as the writer of Green Lantern. The publisher also revealed that the creative teams behind each Green Lantern title would be leaving their respective books, which left fans to speculate who'd be taking over...
