Benedict Cumberbatch really doesn't want to upset Doctor Strange fans.

The Sherlock actor posed in his costume for the upcoming Marvel movie on the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly, and it was one of the first times he tried it on. On top of getting used to his sorcerer's wardrobe, Cumberbatch said he's still in the early stages of learning about his character's spells. You can count on Cumberbatch to make sure he gets every pose just right --- every finger counts! He told the magazine:

It was like, okay, I’ve got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically. I’m thinking, there’s going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of that finger as opposed to it being there, or there. And I’m still working on that. We haven’t played any of those scenes yet. I felt really self-conscious. But, then, by the end, it was great. It’s like anything, you just have to experiment.

Cumberbatch plays the surgeon-turned-Sorcerer Supreme in the film alongside Tilda Swinton as the mystic The Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo. Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen's characters have yet to be revealed, but EW has the scoop in their latest issue. Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016.
