BOOM! Builds Up to ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ with Free Webcomic

In support of the forthcoming Rise of the Planet of the Apes film, BOOM! Studios is taking a characteristically innovative approach to the movie tie-in comic book trend by A) releasing the material for free online B) using the word "prelude" instead of the endlessly misused "prequel."
Available now on a dedicated website is the first five-page installment of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes prelude written by Daryl Gregory (of BOOM!'s popular Planet of the Apes series) with artwork by Damian Couceiro and Tony Parker. The story, which tracks two ape characters' journeys from the wild directly into the events of the film, will be updated every Wednesday until a 10-page conclusion on August 3, just two days before the movie opens.
