Comics Responses to Michael Jackson’s Death
The news of Michael Jackson's death last week seemed to make all other news come to a screeching halt, even overshadowing the passage of a landmark climate change bill. But wait, there's more: It also only prevented the reunion of Megan Fox and salmon-shirted rose boy, and pushed webcomic creator Kate Beaton off the cover of The National Post.
Achewood has a wonderfully sentimental reflection called "The Moonwalk Has Come to a Full and Complete Stop," while Pictures for Sad Children unsurprisingly offers a more cynical take. James Kochalka went Michael Jackson dancing in the street, Jim Mahfood drew a gorgeous tribute image, another artist created a Michael Jackson failwhale mashup, and Bluewater Comics -- best known for cashing in like nuts on the Obama comics craze -- is also planning a Jackson comic.
Finally, please enjoy this over-the-top the tribute from Filipino inmates that you may remember reenacting "Thriller," and Amanda Palmer's recent rendition of Billie Jean.
