Vertigo And Telltale Announce ‘Fables’ Prequel Video Game
Over the past few years, Telltale Games has earned a heck of a pedigree among fans of adventure games, particularly when it comes to games based on comics. Last year's episodic The Walking Dead game earned well-deserved game-of-the-year honors from a good many publications, and the studio has also developed games based on Bone and Sam & Max.
This summer, Telltale is adding another comics-game-series feather to its cap with the release of The Wolf Among Us, a noirish detective yarn starring Fables' Bigby Wolf in the days prior to his first appearance in the long-running Vertigo series.
"Developing The Wolf Among Us based on the Fables universe has allowed our studio to build upon all of the hallmarks of what makes our episodic series so engaging for players," Telltale CEO and co-founder Dan Connors said in a press release. "Through an evolution of our approach to choice and consequence, we can further explore the complexity of each and every iconic character in a universe rich with untold history from the darkest sides of the storybooks."
According to the release, characters including the Three Little Pigs, Mr. Toad and Snow White will make appearances in the game.
The game will be available via XBox Live, the Telltale online store and "other digital distribution outlets," the release states.
