The gaming world has been waiting anxiously for the return of Clementine, star of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead. While this year's visit with Michonne was a nice break in the pattern of sadness being dealt to the teen protagonist, many of us have been eager to see just what's been going on with Clem since we left her at the end of Season Two more than two years ago.

The good news is, the wait is almost over as Telltale has announced Season Three is coming next month. The bad news is that four week wait just became excruciating.

We still don't know much about what's going on with Clementine this time around, as the only real hints have come from the E3 teaser trailer this past summer. At least there'll be some new footage to pour over next week, as Telltale has said the first official episodic trailer will drop during The Game Awards on Dec. 1.

Telltale has made it a bit of a habit to have trailers during December gaming award shows, and many of us were expecting perhaps a Marvel-related bit of news to come next week. That The Walking Dead will be getting the spotlight though bodes well for fans, and should hopefully sate the appetites of those waiting to guide Clementine through the zombie apocalypse later next month.

The Walking Dead, Season 3 will begin on Dec. 20 with "A New Frontier" across the PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iOS and Android.
