The CW has enough superheroes for one lifetime, between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, to say nothing of DC outliers like FOX’s Gotham. Well, get ready for another superhero (or villain?) to join the ranks in 2017, as those in the know say there’s another DC TV series on the way

None other than DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns took to Twitter to confirm the news, saying an additional series would soon join the combined might of the FOX and CW-verse shows. The announcement, Johns claimed, would be forthcoming:

Granted, the “many more” could extend to NBC’s Powerless and any number of animated series (the tweet implied, but didn’t specify live-action), it’s possible that Johns was referring to FOX’s upcoming Black Lightning. That series has a pilot production commitment, but hasn’t technically been “announced” in an official capacity.

There’s also WGN America’s adaptation of Scalped (which Johns himself is attached to executive produce), along with Syfy’s Krypton, and others. At one point or another over the last few years, DC has also attempted to develop live-action TV takes on the Teen Titans, the Legion of Superheroes, and more.

We’ll see what comes of Johns’ cryptic tease in the weeks to come, but what DC heroes and villains should get their live-action due in 2017?
