A lot of video games have adapted comics and comic book characters. At least one has even given players the opportunity to jump around between panels, but has there ever been a video game that actually used comic panels as a core gameplay mechanic?

If there wasn't before, there is now. Loveshack Entertainment's new, noir-tinged game Framed invites players to change the outcomes of a story by moving "frames," which are more or less comic-style panels, around on the screen. It's a really cool concept. If that wasn't enough wordplay for you, the protagonist has also been "framed" for a crime. Framed squared!

The game will be released sometime next year via steam and Apple's app store.
